USA 2007 - Fundraising

Taugenichts

In 2007, I hiked and hitchhiked 15,000 kilometres (9,000 miles) across North America, from Vancouver Island to New York City, in 5 months. During my hike I raised awareness about the dreadful situation in the Eastern provinces of the Democratic Republic of Congo as well as funds for two philanthropic projects in the DRC. Find out more about my hike and how you can help with the Congo projects.

DR Congo 2008

During my hike I raised funds for two projects in the Democratic Republic of the Congo in which I will participate in the summer of 2008: a mobile schools project in the capital Kinshasa and an emergency response mission in the Eastern provinces of Ituri and North and South Kivu. Find out about these projects and learn more about this beautiful country as well as the horrible situation it finds itself in.

Senegal 2007

In December 2007 I travelled to Sédhiou, a village in the Southern Senegalese province of Casamance, to work with the local NGO Enfance et Paix. The Casamance has only recently emerged from a (low-level) independence war that lasted for nearly a quarter of a century.

Find out more about my work with Enfance et Paix, my life with my Senegalese family (the Sadios), and my experiences in one of the most beautiful corners of the world.
