own two legs; (b) a daily travel allowance of $5

and (c) the generosity of people I meet on the road. This means that I
may hitchhike or accept prepaid bus or train tickets.

Accommodation and Communication:
on average I may not spend more than $15 daily
(C$16.95, ₤7.47, €11.05)
for
accommodation and communication-related costs.

Rule 3
|
Food and Care Products:
on average I may not spend more than $15 daily
(C$16.95, ₤7.47, €11.05)
on
food and care products. This category includes food/water, luxury
goods (such as sweets, alcohol or tobacco), medication,
vitamins/minerals, and toiletries.

Rule 4
|
Finances:
(a) in addition to the aforementioned allowances I may not spend more
than $5 daily
(C$5.65, ₤2.49, €3.70);
(b) these allowances are not exclusive with regards to their date or
their purpose. This means that money in one category may be saved up
and spent on later days or used up on items in a different category.

Route:
I may change the route if circumstances necessitate adjustments. The
purpose of such modifications, however, must not be to make my journey
easier. This means in particular that the journey is not to be
considered complete unless I have entered a minimum of 25 different US
states within its course.
