FOOD SECURITY / AGRICULTURE

As with our scholastic mission, our aim with regards to food security is to enable people, and especially the disadvantaged, to learn helping themselves using the resources and tools available to them. We attempt to do this through:

  • The distribution of high quality seeds (rice, weed, milt and mace) to and agricultural training of inhabitants of previous conflict zones or regions otherwise affected by armed conflict.  

  • Training in production techniques, such as composting and optimal seed conservation.

  • Training in production techniques relative to the availability of production tools.

  • Installation of a system of solidarity at the village level.

  • Organization of study and exchange programs, locally, regionally, nationally and internationally, to enable farmers and other agricultural producers to exchange experiences and learn from each other.
