PUBLIC HEALTH

Our public health mission concentrates on the revival of the health system in areas affected by armed conflict. In particular, our work aims at the:

  • Establishment of communal health services (SBC: Service à Base Communautaire). These clinics assist people who could not otherwise afford medical treatment, medication or travelling to hospitals.

  • Accessibility and spread health information.

  • Improvement of the nutritional state of particularly vulnerable groups, such as young children, the poor, elderly and displaced, and people wounded in conflict.

  • Training of community volunteers to work in clinics, dispensaries and SBCs.

  • Building of small clinics in villages, typically run by small groups of volunteers, and subsequently the provision and maintenance of equipment.
